안녕하십니까~! 붸가짱입니다. UMPCPORTAL.COM에 4가지의 UMPC를 비교하는
자료가 올라오게 되어서 이렇게 여러분께 소개해 드리고자 합니다.

의역이 들어가있습니다. 해석을 하면서 쉽게 접할수 있는 문장이 아닌게 좀 있고,
영어 실력이 부족한지라 南無님과  최재혁님의 도움을 받아서 해석 하였습니다.

One advantage of running a UMPC website is that I can easily justify buying a new
 UMPC. Right now I have 4 UMPCs in permanent use which cover a wide range of
form factors and features and I'm settling into a pattern of how I use them. I think its
worth me going through how I use each device to give people a feel for what tasks
each is best at and then outlining which device I would buy if I was only able to have one UMPC.

UMPC 웹 사이트를 운영하면서 얻는 하나의 이득은 새로운 UMPC를 구입할 때
선택이 손쉽다는 것이다. 당장 나는 여러가지의 플랫폼과 기능을지니고 있는 4개의
UMPC를 보유하고 있고 내가 어떻게 그 UMPC를 쓸 것인가 정하고 있다. 그 UMPC가
 어떤 작업에 가장 좋은가를 모두에게 알리며, 만약 하나의 UMPC만 구입할 수 있다면
어떤 것이 좋은가를 고를 수 있도록 하는 가이드 라인을 제시하는 것은 무척 가치
있는 일이라 생각한다.

여기서 잠깐. 한 제품을 제외하고 모두 Windows가 구동된다. 그게 뭔지 알겠는가?


Lets start with the most grabbed device in the house. Its the Everun S30S. I really
 love this little baby. Its fun, its handy, its always got a battery life left for me, its got
a good screen and the keyboard is really useful for picking out URL's from history,
 saved usernames and passwords, windows key shortcuts, function key shortcuts
and even the occasional email and forum post. Its also the device I take to the car
because it slips into a generic PDA holder and provides me with an on-dash car PC
for navigation, music, and too many other dangerous and distracting options! It is
covering nearly all of my out-of-work UMPC activities. The Everun is the fun UMPC.

우선 집에 있는 기기 중 많은 이들의 마음을 잡았던 것부터 시작해보겠다. 그것은
에버런 S30S이다. 나는 정말로 이 작고 귀여운 에버런을 좋아한다. 에버런은 즐겁게
사용할 수 있고, 손에 쥐기 쉬우며, 언제나 많은 배터리 시간을 제공한다. 또한
멋진 화면과 키보드는 접속 기록에서 URL을 찾아내거나, 아이디와 패스워드를
 저장하거나, 갑작스럽게 전자우편을 보내고 받고 포럼의 글을 관리할 때도 아주 좋다.
또한 일반적인 얇은 PDA 홀더에 들어가며 대쉬보드의 카 PC처럼 내비게이션,
음악, 그리고 수 많은 주위를 산만하게 하는 위험한 요소를 제공하기 때문에 나는
차와 함께 가지고 다닌다. 에버런은 내 업무 이외의 모든 UMPC 활용 분야를
커버할 수 있다. 정말 에버런은 흥미있는 UMPC이다.


The Kohjinsha SH6 is one I've only had for a week but its now my choice if I need
to use a PC outside in daylight. Its not the keyboard that I grab the SH6 for, its the
screen. Its fantastic. In bright daylight you can really use it and the 1024x600
resolution is so much better for applications. Its also the device I am grabbing if I'm
using my digital camera. The SD slot is fast and useable. The Kohjinsha SH6 is the
outdoor UMPC.

고진샤 SH6는 딱 일주일 밖에 써보지 못 했지만 만약 햇빛 아래서 사용해야할 필요가
있다면 SH6으로 선택할 것이다. SH6의 키보드에 흥미를 갖지는 못 했지만 스크린은
정말 내 흥미를 끌었다. 정말 최고였다. 밝은 대낮에서 정말 쓸만하며 1024x600의
해상도는 어플리케이션을 돌리기에 더 좋았다. 만약 디지털 카메라를 쓴다면 더
좋을 것 같다. SD 슬롯은 빠르고 쓸만하였다. 고진샤 SH6는 실외에서 쓰기 좋은
UMPC이다.


As for mobile productivity, the Samsung Q1b HSDPA with organiser pack is
the choice here. Its 100% online connected, has very good battery life and has a
keyboard that allows me to type at 100% of my nromal (oops!) typing speed. If I have
finished my work I can go into 'pleasure' mode with the Q1b too. Pop the Q1b out of
the case and use it as a tablet (on screen keyboard) and if I need all-day battery life
I just plug in the extended battery. Remember that most of my activity is 'in the cloud.
' I use Internet applications and store all my docs online. I don't use any heavy local
graphics or spreadsheet app's and if I need too I just remote desktop home over
HSDPA. All my power applications are available there. If truth be told, I'm getting
more value for money out of the Q1b HSDPA than the Everun although its not as
much fun and doesn't work well in the car. The Q1b is the productivity UMPC.

이동 사무실을 꿈꾼다면 오거나이저 팩과 함께 하는 삼성 Q1b HSDPA가 좋은 선택이다.
 Q1b는 언제나 온라인에 접속할 수 있으며, 괜찮은 배터리 시간과 100% 푱소 (이런!)
타이핑 속도를 낼 수 있는 키보드가 함께 한다. 내가 일을 마친 뒤 '노는' 모드로 들어갈
 때도 Q1b는 함께 할 수 있다. Q1b를 케이스에서 꺼내고 테이블릿 PC처럼 (스크린
키보드와 함께) 쓰고, 하루 종일 쓸 수 있는 배터리 시간이 필요하면 외장 배터리를
꼽기만 하면 된다. 잊지 말아야할 것은 나는 언제 무슨 일을 하려 들지 모른다는 것이다.
 나는 인터넷 어플리케이션을 이용하고 내 모든 문서를 온라인에 저장한다. 나는 Q1b에서
 무거운 그래픽이나 엑셀 프로그램을 돌리지 않고 필요하면 HSDPA를 통한 원격데스크탑
 집 PC에 연결한다. 내가 필요로 하는 강력한 어플리케이션을 모두 쓸 수 있다. 솔직히
말하자면, 에버런이 더 재미있고 차 안에서 더 쓸만함에도 Q1b HSDPA에 더 많은
가치를 두고 있다. Q1b는 가장 업무에 좋은 UMPC이다.


The other device I have is the Samsung Q1P. Its gathering dust at the moment!
Occasionally I might use it for a mobile desktop setup with an external monitor
 but that's rare. If I was a desk hopper - someone that had multiple desks with
 a screen, it would be better than the Q1b because of the noticeable difference
in processing power. In this scenario you don't need to worry about batter life
 or HSDPA either so there's no disadvantage over the Q1b in this case. I'm selling
 the Q1P now so if anyone in Europe is interested, see this thread. The Q1P is
the portable office UMPC.

또 다른 것으로 삼성 Q1P가 있다. Q1P는 내 책상 서랍에서 먼지만 뒤집어 쓰고 있다!
 가끔 Q1P를 외부 모니터와 함께 휴대용 데스크탑으로 쓰긴 하지만 무척 드문 일이다.
만약 칸막이로 가려진 여러 개의 책상을 여기 저기 옮겨다니며 작업을 한다면,
Q1b보다 더 나을 것 같다. 왜냐면 CPU 파워에서 현저하게 차이가 나기 때문이다.
만약 배터리 시간을 걱정할 필요가 없거나 HSDPA 필요 없다면 이런 경우 Q1b보다
못 할 게 없을 것이다. 나는 지금 Q1P를 팔려 하고 있으며 유럽에 있는 누군가가 관심이
 있다면 이 글을 봐주기 바란다. Q1P는 사무 휴대용에 가장 적합한 UMPC이다.


Now all this doesn't really help the average person that is considering buying
a single UMPC. You won't find any device with all the advantages above so
choosing the perfect single UMPC is tough. The OQO has a small screen. The
Q1U is not as grabbable as the Everun and the U1010 doesn't seem to be great
with the small 1024x600 screen, 2-hour battery life and limited keyboard. So...

하지만 이 이야기가 하나의 UMPC를 사려는 평범한 사람에게 모두 도움이 되진 않을
것이다. 앞서 언급한 모든 것을 지닌 UMPC는 찾을 수 없을 것이다. 그러므로 완벽한
하나의 UMPC를 고르는 것은 너무 어렵다. OQO는 너무 작은 화면이며, Q1U는
에버런만큼 마음을 끌지 못 하며, U1010은 작은 1024x600 해상도의 화면, 2시간의
배터리 시간 그리고 한정된 키보드로 그리 특출나진 않은 것 같다. 그래서...
