드디어 내일이면 애플 태블릿 PC의 실체가 그 모습을 드러냅니다.
애플의 모든 제품들이 그러했지만 출시전 참 많은 루머로 예비 구매자들의 마음을 들썩였습니다. 애플 태블릿 역시 정말 많은 루머들로 그 궁금증을 자아냈는데 현재까지 공개된 루머들 중 그나마 신빙성이 있는 루머를 정리한 글이 공개되어 소개해 볼까 합니다.

1. The tablet is expected to be a multimedia device that will let people watch movies and television shows, play games, surf the Internet and read electronic books and newspapers.
- 애플 태블릿은 영화, TV 쇼 감상과 게임과 인터넷 서핑, e북/ 신문등을 읽을 수 있는 멀티미디어 디바이스가 될 것이다.
2. Apple is said to be looking to change the way consumers interact with content. This would presumably be accomplished with live updating information and Apple's multi-touch technology.
- 추측컨데 실시간 정보를 업데이트하고 애플의 멀티터치 기술을 적용한 컨텐츠와 함께 consumers interact 를 경험할 수 있을것이다.
3. All reports have pointed to the use of the advanced Cortex A9 ARM processor in Apple's upcoming tablet. The use of this next generation processor should allow for good performance and relatively long battery life. It will also allow the tablet to run existing iPhone and iPod Touch apps unaltered -- a feature that has been rumored. The added horsepower could also allow for long rumored iPhone OS features such as multi-tasking
- 차세대 프로세서인 Cortex A9 ARM processor를 사용하여 앞선 퍼포먼스와 배터리 사용시간을 늘릴수 있을 것이다. 진화된 iPhone OS를 채택하며 기존 아이팟, 아이폰의 앱을 그대로 실행할 수 있다.
4. The device, itself, has been pegged at around 10" in size according to multiple reports with an appearance very similar to the current iPhone. A front facing camera may also be included with the device which would open the door to video conferencing. Optional 3G wireless connectivity in addition to built-in Wi-Fi is expected, though through which carrier remains uncertain.
- 아이폰의 외형과 유사한 디자인으로 10인치의 멀티터치 기반의 디스플레이를 담았다. 화상회의등의 용도로 전면 웹카메라와 기본 WIFI, 옵션으로 3G를 지원한다.
5. Apple has applied for trademarks for both iSlate and iPad. While it's possible Apple may have ultimately decided to go a different direction, the iPad application process remains ongoing with filings as recent as this month, making this seem to be the most likely candidate.
- iSlate(아이슬레이트) and iPad(아이패드) 모두 상표를 등록하여 이중 하나가 애플 태블릿 PC의 명칭이 될수 있지만 애플이 다른 명칭으로 결정할 수도 있다.
6. Finally, the interface remains one of the most important pieces of the puzzle, but little has leaked about this. Patent applications over the years have provided hints at what might be possible, but the best reports simply describe it as "a good bit of new sexy" and that people will be surprised at how you interact with it.
- 인터페이스는 무척 섹시(?)할 것이며 사용자들은 interact에 놀라게 될것이다.
현재 공개된 루머에 대해 이 정도로 정리하고 있습니다. 이외에도 가격이 600달러 정도 될것이다.(정말 바라는 소식입니다. ㅎㅎ) 라는 루머도 있었는데 여기서는 빠져있네요.
실제 공개가 될 경우 루머가 어느정도 맞아 떨어졌는지 비교해 보는 것도 재미있지 않을까 합니다. 제가 영어가 부족해 정확하게 해석이 됐는지는 모르겠습니다만 잡스형님이 새로운 디바이스에 대해 자신이 만든 것들 중 most important thing 이라고 업급한 만큼 (2007년 아이폰 발표때도 그랬지만) 그에 걸맞는 녀석을 선보여주길 기대하겠습니다.
